This month we are delving into lessons that foster independence. We will be cooking simple foods that we can do on our own (or with a little help), practicing activities that encourage independent living and engaging in curricular outcomes that target personal awareness and safety!
NOvember: Carson Cash & Doing good things
This month our class established a monetary reward system, "Carson Cash,' whereby students earn 'money' for positive actions and work around the school. After a certain period of time, students have the opportunity to count their cash and buy items at our very own market. Here is what we saw this month....
Sidney offered to help Naomi walk around the school. They both seemed to enjoy themselves.
Liam, Hunter, and Naomi took a break from helping the school out by sorting and delivering fruit (apples this month!) to all of Carson's students.

This week we made the very loved grilled cheese sandwiches. Students made a grocery list, went to the local store to pick up ingredients, and had fun working together make a classic delicious lunch. More pictures to come...
how to ride the bus
Being independent involves getting to certain places in a variety of ways. The next clip demonstrates how the students take the bus in Dave's class during Block 8!
November: an outing with our friends
After a nice stroll, we made our way to a coffee shop and had some drinks and snacks with the friends in our class.
november: Jammin'
Our weekly music lesson involved the drums and was lead by our very own musically inclined Bryce Bennett.
NOVEMBER: FRIDAY MARKET AND COOKING ADVENTURE
This week we decided to make 'fruit sticks.' After Halloween, some healthier food choices were welcomed! We set about to the market, worked together to create this fruity snack and, after realizing we made way too much, share with the rest of the school. It was all gone in no time.
